Over 50,000 Years Ago People Knew How get to Australia

According to new research humans purposefully set out to reach Australia. It seems scientists can read minds now - what a great leap forward! Seriously though, knowing what individuals are thinking is an impossible thing to do, largely because people perceive settings differently. No two people are exactly alike not even twins. Perception is a function of consciousness as perceived through the senses which differs for everyone.
Early seafarers
Sea levels were lower in 65,000 BP, so islands off the coast of northern Australia could be seen from high points on islands off Indonesia. There is a problem here, however, in that there are major racial differences between Australian Aboriginals and Indonesians. Surely, some dark skinned inhabitants of the South East Asian archipelago would have remained and interbred with "typical" Asians we see today. Note, Papua New Guineans are different than Australian "natives".

To say that an assembly of about 100 boats were organized and launched for the distant islands to the south is drawing a very long bow. It was more likely an ad hoc movement to the Australian mainland. Storms probably stranded seafarers there. They could not return northward even if they wanted to.

"Experts" say drifting ashore was unlikely. These specialists obviously do not live in the real world where many things happen by pure accident: some call it luck. Family groups would travel across land and take to the sea at that time in search of more abundant food sources. That is how newcomers moved from Africa in the first place.

Before "Asiatics" made a move into the Indonesian islands there must have been a solid gene pool of "proto-Australians" living there. The assumption of Australian Aboriginals reaching the continent in one go is wrong. There must have been people arriving over a long period from a unique much larger group of forebears. Perhaps those from Asia wiped them all out. Neanderthals and Denisovans were killed off. Genes found in humans purportedly coming from interbreeding with these fellow apes actually came from a common ancestor. Moreover, infertile mules would be born from a Homo sapien - Neanderthal coupling because they have a different number of chromosomes like horses and donkeys.

Show me a mule with offspring anyone?
